My name is Kerrianne Greer, and I am a certified End of Life Doula, located on Birapai Country on the NSW Mid North Coast, Australia.

My practice encompasses support for both humans and animals as they journey through the experience of transitioning toward end of life passages, dying and death.

As an End of Life Doula, I am dedicated to offering non- biased, gentle, holistic, and inclusive support. I walk beside people and their loved ones-whether human or animal-through the ever-shifting terrain of end of life, providing compassionate presence and guidance. I consider it a privilege to be invited into this special and sacred space, supporting individuals and families during deeply raw, emotional and vulnerable times. Honouring that grief has no rules and is as unique as each grain of sand.

I am committed to empowering individuals, helping them regain a sense of agency and control in the midst of challenging circumstances and working collaboratively with care teams and medical professionals. My approach is grounded in gentle respect, working collaboratively with each person to ensure their journey is honoured in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to them.

Central to my work is the belief in the importance of honest and open conversations about end of life and death. I advocate for and educate about the choices available at the end of life and beyond, supporting clients in honouring legacy and creating spaces for quiet reflection, expression, and connection.

Through compassionate connection, I empower my clients so that they never feel alone as they navigate these significant moments. My aim is to ensure that each person feels truly seen and heard as they honour themselves and their loved ones. That they are seen as a person, not a patient and remain in control of the priorities most important to them.

My Journey to Becoming an End of Life Doula.

My path towards becoming an End of Life Doula has been shaped by an intrinsic commitment to ritual and the honouring of death and passing, beginning with my beloved pets. This practice was present in me long before I knew it had a name, arising naturally from my experiences and the way I approached the loss of my pets.

My personal journey includes navigating a cancer diagnosis at the age of 41 and the death of my father from dementia. These experiences, along with mourning the loss of cherished family members, pets, friends, and students, has deeply influenced my understanding of death, grief, and the importance of compassionate, often quiet support throughout these times. Honouring that grief has no rules and is as unique as each grain of sand.

Professionally, I bring thirty years of experience in Early Childhood, Music and Primary Education, complemented by postgraduate studies in developmental trauma. My work in Early Intervention has involved supporting children with additional needs and their families, fostering a foundation of empathy, advocacy, and practical assistance that informs my current practice.

In addition to my professional background, I volunteer at Tender Funerals Mid North Coast - a registered charity that provides holistic funeral services. This organisation is part of a wider community movement to reclaim the rites associated with death and dying, and my involvement has further deepened my commitment to empowering individuals and families as they navigate these profound life moments.

With thanks,

Kerrianne.
